Privacy Policy

Effective 31 August 2026

Short version: AERA itself collects nothing and has no account. Your photos and videos stay on your device. The free tier shows ads and reports crashes, and those two SDKs collect the data described below.

Who we are

AERA (“the app”) is an iOS application published by its independent developer (“we”, “us”). Contact: mosayyyed@gmail.com.

What the app itself collects

Nothing. AERA has no user accounts, no sign-in, and makes no network requests of its own. Your camera settings and your in-app library are stored only on your device.

Your photos and videos

  • The camera and microphone are used only to capture what you point them at, on-device.
  • Photo-library access is used to import media you pick and to save the shots you keep. Media is processed on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party by AERA.
  • Deleting a shot in AERA deletes AERA's copy and never touches your system photo library.

Purchases

AERA Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Payment, renewal, and receipt validation are handled by Apple; we receive only Apple's anonymous entitlement status (subscribed or not). We never see your card or Apple Account details.

Advertising — free tier only

The free tier uses Google AdMob to show ads. Before any ad request, a consent screen (Google's User Messaging Platform) asks how ads may be personalised where the law requires it. Depending on your choice and region, AdMob may process:

  • device identifiers (including the Advertising Identifier, if you allow tracking);
  • coarse (non-precise) location derived from your IP address;
  • ad interaction and app-usage signals;
  • diagnostic and crash information.

This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and, for advertising specifically, Google's advertising terms. AERA Pro removes all ads and makes no ad requests.

Crash reports and analytics

AERA uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (by Google) to learn when the app breaks and which features people use. These collect crash stack traces, device model and OS version, and product-interaction events (for example: a shot was saved, the paywall was shown). Events carry no image, no location, and no library contents, and are not linked to your identity. Governed by Firebase's privacy terms.

App Tracking Transparency

If the app asks permission to track, that request covers use of the Advertising Identifier for personalised ads on the free tier. Choosing “Ask App Not to Track” leaves the app fully functional; ads simply become non-personalised.

Children

AERA is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

You can reset the advertising consent choice from the consent screen, disable tracking in iOS Settings, and request deletion of any diagnostic data associated with your device by emailing us. Because AERA holds no account, there is no profile for us to export or erase beyond that.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above changes with it and the updated text appears here.
